Palm Beach, Aruba -- Miami, Fl April 2005- InterContinental Hotels Group, the world?s most global hotel company, announced the Grand Opening of the Holiday Inn? SunSpree? Resort Aruba?s newest addition, The Entertainment Pool and Deck on December 7th, 2004, at the hotel?s 35th anniversary party. Since it opened on October 25th 1969, the famous green sign of Holiday Inn has graced the entrance. It is the only resort in Aruba open this long under one flag. The resort officially inaugurated its new Entertainment Pool and Deck on the completely renovated and expanded pool deck. In keeping with the new walkways surrounding the resort, the pool deck is paved in natural flagstone from Brazil. Rock formations sending cascading water into the pool surround both the existing pool and the new pool. The new pool features a zero entry design, a jet stream massage area and a section where bathers can relax on a lounge chair enjoying a cocktail or reading a book while being partially submerged in water. Two heated oversized Jacuzzis are on an elevated level of the deck and present a wonderful view of famous Palm Beach. There?s even something for the little ones too! The Jet Zone shoots streaming jets of water in the shallow end of the pool for the excitement of children of all ages. Also, a truly unique feature is color wheel lighting, installed in the bottom of the pool for mood setting in the evenings. But the renovation did not stop with the pools and the deck; new furniture and live plants create a tropical atmosphere in the lobby and the shopping arcade. The Pali-Coco cocktail lounge has new colors on the wall, new tiles on the floor and new Indonesian style furniture to go along with it. Both of our indoor restaurants, Boardwalk Cafe & Mira-Mar Restaurant, now have new glazed terracotta tiled floors, freshly painted walls in attractive colors that really standout, plus royal palms and other plants to enhance the ambiance. The Seabreeze Grill restaurant has also received new furniture and it is now open during the evenings with a Tapas and Mediterranean cuisine menu. It is rapidly becoming a guest favorite due to its romantic evening setting. The new business center, The Internet Zone, offers guests high-speed service to surf the Internet, check emails and more. We even have a logo shop with Polo shirts, caps, etc, to take home custom mementos. The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort now has Wi-Fi, featuring high-speed wireless service for your portable computer or PDA.
